Top Reads #Week 2

Im going to be posting links to some of the articles that I have been reading online. These articles were mostly stored in my Pocket app and Reading List since some time now. So as this section (Top Reads) gets older, you should be expecting newer articles.

These articles are mainly from the world of Government, Technology, Photography, Films, Design, Environment, Marketing, etc.

Notably, the Featured Image of each week’s post, will be from my favourite article.

Filming the outline of 2015

Each year it just gets bigger for Hollywood, and this year is no exception. This year will be no ordinary, releases such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars, will surely make a big show out of their earning and will have an exciting race to the top of the box office. A new Mad Max (not starring Mel Gibson, instead Tom Hardy), and a new Sherlock Holmes adventure- Mr. Holmes (one with Ian McKellen ), a new Terminator (not starring Christian Bale) and much more.

Here is your guide to exciting movies opening in theaters over the next 12 months – some i’ve waited a very long time for and just can’t wait to see!

Disclaimer: Keep in mind, these are not films I define to be “Interstellar”. – these are movies I feel inspired to watch. Some of them don’t even have a trailer yet!

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Missing Oscar

I’ve got to give credit to Wikipedia for inserting an “Lost to” column to the list of Nominations and Awards won by Leonardo DiCaprio. Leonardo DiCaprio has failed to won an oscar not because the academy seems to be biased, but because of the fact that he lost the awards to actors or performances better than his or equal.

Tommy Lee Jones for The Fugitive, a film which still remains in my list of all time favourites accompanied by the brilliance of Harrison Ford. Jamie Foxx for Ray,  biographical film on the life of the blues musician Ray Charles, in which Jamie Foxx performace was , according to me, the best of his lifetime, certainly deserved the oscar just as much as Leo. Forest Whitaker for The Last King of Scotland, based on Uganda’s dictator Idi Amin, being played by Forest Whitaker, was a mind blowing performance and became (to me) a gateway movie to the African Poverty and Civil wars. Matthew McConaughey for Dallas Buyers Club, well I’m not going to say much about McConaughey’s brilliant 2013 and now 2014. Just watch what a straight forward, clear minded person he is. His oscar winning speech for Dallas Buyers Club, Best Actor

Im not Anti – Leonardo DiCaprio, I can never be. He is a amazing actor, his performances in  films such as Titanic (1997), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Gangs of New York (2002), Blood Diamond (2006), The Departed (2006), Revolutionary Road (2008), Shutter Island (2010), Inception(2010), and Django Unchained (2012) are just unforgettable.
